Pixie Cottage Challenge #76

Good Morning,

Are you ready for another Pixie Cottage Challenge? We have a wonderful "Strawberries and Cream" theme, as well as fun sketch #76 for you to choose from. Remember, you can chose to use the theme and/or the sketch. For the summer session we will be randomly choosing 1 lucky winner, and that person will be able to choose 2 Pixie Cottage Stamps of their choice.Won't you come and play with The Pixies?

I just LOVE the theme this week. My choice of October Afternoon Strawberry papers made the theme come together very easily.  I chose to use South End Girls #2 again because she is just so darling.  I then went about coloring my image, only to finish off my card with an enameled strawberry broach!

Michelle's Scrapbooking and More carries the wonderful Prima Flowers on my card that were chosen to match my DP, she also carries the stamp.  Currently Michelle has started up a Monthly Copic Club. You will receive 3 new Copic Markers a month, for $15.75 including shipping.  This is perfect for the beginner Copic collector.  Should you be interested sure click on the link above to find out more.

Happy Krafting ladies,

PaperWorks Co. ABAC Sunday

Good Morning,
I am back with my third ABAC creation for PaperWorks Co.
I was perusing the ScorPal site and came across this wonderful File Folder template. I have to say the directions were super easy to follow, and I only had to attempt it once!

I am thrilled with how this turned out. I added my own personal touches, such as using the most adorable Wool Ewe  PWCO stamp to create a simple, but clean image on the box top brim.  I then added a PWCO tab inside to help organize and clean up my craft desk.  I now have a place to file all my pre-stamped images that clutter my workspace.
I was full of inspiration once I completed my project, so I moved on to create this matching 4 x4 card. I just love the feeling when a project comes together and the end result leaves me with a good feeling.

This would make a wonderful gift for friends and such. I may just have to try this one out again, perhaps at Christmas time, for some handmade, personalized gifts. Should you decided to try this out, please leave me a link. I would love to see what you do with it.

Have a wonderful Sunday,
Hugs,
Tanya

2 Cute Rubbers Stamps Sunday Inspiration

Good Morning,

Here is my 2 Cute Rubber Stamp Sunday Inspiration posting. I wanted to give this card a rustic, outdoor feel so I immediately gravitated to my stash of recycled corrugated cardboard.

Owl Miss You is an adorable stamp, available in digi form as well as rubber. I personally have him in rubber form, and he is one of my favorites. I just adore those big rimmed glasses he has on. What's not to love!

I colored him Kraft paper, with my prisma pencil crayons because I can get a really nice textured look.  It also leaves a bit of a shiny gleam to it, and that totally reminds me of feathers.   Yes I really tend to put thought into some of my cards, such as this one.  Most of my techniques have been trial and error, and I just really enjoy being inspired by all you talented ladies.  Thank you for all your posts, I learn something new each and every day simply by perusing your blogs.

Happy Krafting,
Hugs,
Tanya

Pixie Cottage Challenge #75

Good Morning,

Welcome to another Once Upon a Wednesday . We find ourselves on Challenge #75 here at The Pixie Cottage, and we are working with an "Outdoor Fun" theme. Now that Summer is here, and the sunshine has decided to come out,  family fun days at the farm can commence!  We are fortunate to have a couple of farms very close by that allow us to feed the animals and interact with them. In fact, we spent our Father's Day at the Experimental Farm.

I recently received Down on The Farm,  a super fantastically fun Pixie Cottage stamp. I have been itching to ink it up, and I finally got the chance. I am not sure why I colored the rooster yellowish orange, because they are brown, red etc. but it works, and I think it balances out the sunflower. I tried my hand at yet another attempt to create an interesting sky in the background, and I popped the animals up a bit to add some dimension.  Not wanting to clutter the card, I used the same design paper to create texture on the left side of the card with a tree branch and leaf die.

Michelle's Scrapbooking and More, as well as Heather's Stamping Haven both carry this stamp should you want to add it to your collection.

Have fun with the challenge this week ladies!
Happy Krafting,
Hugs,
Tanya

P.S Michelle's Scrapbooking and More has now opened up a monthly  COPIC SKETCH CLUB.  It is really a fantastic little club for those of you who are starting your Copic Collection.  Be sure to check it out.

Celebrating Father's Day with PWCO

Good Morning,

Happy Father's Day!  This is my second ABAC creation for  PaperWorks Co.,  I am really having fun with these dimensional projects.  Be sure to head over for some further inspiration by Danielle as well, she certainly knows how to inspire.

I found this image for a Chocolate bar gift holder and just had to try it on for size! No measurements were provided so I took out my scrap paper and started cutting, folding and scoring. It took me 2 tries, but I finally got it right.  I will have to jot down the dimensions, and perhaps upload a tutorial for you all. I used the fabulous Peppy Tinheart as my image, and Cassie Tinheart's Sentiment stamp for the banner. This Tinheart Family Collection is just one spiffy stamp set. It can be used for any celebration, boy or girl.

You know I just love adding dimensions to my projects so for the tag, I popped up Peppy's head.  For my colors, I chose chocolate brown due to the gift itself, and coordinated the flower and heart with the design paper in the background. You will see some subtle cog punches behind Peppy, but I wanted my main focus to be on the robots themselves. They represent my two daughters, and Daddy is definetly the "...bolt that holds us together".

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's, I hope you enjoy all the handmade projects and appreciate the TLC that goes into making them.

Hugs and Happy Krafting,

Tanya

2 Cute Thursday Inspiration

Good Morning,

Just a little Thursday inspiration for you 2 Cute Rubber Stamp Style. This is the 3rd card we will be making on June 25th, 2011 at Heather's Stamping Haven. If you live in the Ottawa area, why not come out and join the fun craft circle with us. You will get to use this adorable rubber stamp, and have fun with all the other women.

I used the 2 Cute Penguin Fun cling stamp for the image, and proceeded to match up the papers. This card took very little time to make, but it is perfect for times when reproducing a batch would be required. Like for a summer birthday ice cream party!  I have to say I just adore this card stock that Heather's Stamping Haven supplies, it is sparkly and super thick!

Have a fun day ladies, it sure is a warm one out there!  Hey, perfect for some ice cream don't you think?

Hugs

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #74

Good Morning,

Welcome to our Once Upon a Wednesday Pixie Cottage Challenge #74.  The theme this week is "Grab a Glass of Lemonade" hence my abundance of yellow.  I know I love a cold glass of yellow lemonade on a warm sunny day.  Does that not sound refreshing?  You can interpret the theme and/or use the sketch above, and then enter your creation in this weeks challenge.  Don't be shy, we just love being inspired by all your projects.

Once again I was inspired to try something different with my Copic markers.  I took the Pixie Cottage's Fall Wagon Wheel stamp and made it into a summer image, being sure to hide the pumpkins. I worked with Copic Y000 and BG000 to create the summery sky, and then my facecloth dabbed in blender fluid to add a bit of texture.  I then took the lovely Pixie Cottage SouthEnd Girls 2 stamp and created this summer scene.  I seem to have this thing with paper piecing skirts lately.

I worked on this card Saturday afternoon in between our Mommy and Daughter's sunny outdoor park adventure.  We had to come in to rejuvenate, eat, hydrate and relax from our morning at the park. So while the girls ate and took in an afternoon show, I crafted.  They managed to come upstairs as I was embossing the edges of this card.  I got a lot of "Ooohs" from them, followed by "Can we go back outside Mommy?".  We headed back outside outside for more bike rides and an afternoon at another park.

Well, I best stop rambling,
Happy Krafting,
Hugs

2 Cute Rubber Stamps ABAC Inspiration

Good Evening,

Here is a bit of  Tuesday night ABAC inspiration, 2 Cute Rubber Stamps style.
I have been itching to use a 3D template from  Sunghee's  Little Potato House. Sunghee has these amazing Hybrid Templates, and I chose her "Almost Square Bag" template to create this box with tag and card combo.  I used the Furry Friends Dog and Cat rubber cling stamp from the 2 Cute Rubber Stamps Etsy store.  I stamped the image out several times and then proceeded to use my circle and scalloped circle punch to create the dimensional tag for the box.  I then went about making a 3x3 card that matched. The card fits perfectly in the box, and I plan to use this as a birthday gift adding money into the box.  Giving money as a gift is not my favorite thing to do, it seems rather impersonal, so I put a lot of TLC into this creation to let the receiver know that I did in fact put effort into wanting to make their Birthday a happy day.

I hope you visit Sunghee's  Little Potato House, be sure to look through her work as well. She is the Queen of 3D paper art I tell you!

Have a super fun evening,

Hugs,
Tanya R

PaperWorks Co. ABAC Sunday

Good Morning,

This marks my first official post as a PWCO DT member. My challenge this month is to create ABAC (Anything But A Card) creations for you each and every Sunday. I really hope that I can create some wonderful creations for you all.  If you have any templates you think I could use, I would love for you to leave a comment!

I came across this Square Box Tutorial  and asked my darling husband to enlarge the dimensions for me because I needed the surface of the box to be a bit bigger.  He loves doing math, and I know I could have figured it out eventually, but his brain is much quicker, and he loves feeling needed so..........

I used one of my favorite PWCO stamps for this creation. Rocko Tinheart is the handsome robot and he comes with this adorable sentiment as well.  If you are into robots though you must check out the PWCO Tinheart Family Collection.

Be sure to drop on by the PWCO Blog, Danielle will be posting her ABAC creation as well.  Not to mention, every day, one of the fabby PWCO DT members will be posting creative and interesting projects, along with the Wednesday sketch challenges that you can all participate in.  FUN FUN FUN!

Happy Krafting, and have a fabulous Sunday.
Hugs,
Tanya

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #73

Good Morning,

Welcome to The Pixie Cottage Challenge #73. This weeks theme is "Shape it Up!" and we also have Sketch #73 above for you to use. You can use the theme and/or the sketch.

I have to admit, when I read the theme, I did not put 2 and 2 together. The sketch is square, so I went about creating a 5 x 5 square card. Then I asked myself "Hmmmmmm, how do I incorporate the theme?" So I paper pieced Hannah's skirt and shaped it with my stylus to make it look like it was blowing in the wind. Thus giving her skirt some "Shape". I then read an email, and found out that the theme was all about Shaped cards!

I used Hannah at a Fence, available at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More. She is such a wonderful image don't you think? I wonder what she is pondering while staring out into the distance.  I look forward to seeing what images you will use. But remember, as long as you use the sketch, or the theme, your entry qualifies.  Won't you play with The Pixies this week?

Have a fabulous day, and I hope you all find some "me" time to craft.
Hugs
Tanya

2 Cute Little FireFighter Girl Stamp

Good Morning,

I am starting today off with a Sunday morning 2 Cute Rubber Stamps creation. This was one of the first 2 Cute Rubber Stamps I ever purchased. I have 2 daughters whom love to play dress up, and Little FireFighter Girl just reminds me of them.

Enjoy your day ladies, and be sure to head over to the 2 Cute DT blog and play along with this weeks Spring theme challenge, HERE.   As long as your creation has something to do with Spring, it qualifies, and the good news is, by entering, you will be eligible to win some of your very own 2 Cute Stamps.

PWCO DT Newbie

Hi!

Today I get to share some good news. I am now part of the PaperWorks Co DT!   I remember being introduced to them through my friend Sheena B. Thanks Sheena! I have also had the pleasure of creating with Steph J, and with Danielle.  The craft community can seem so big, but I have been truly fortunate to meet wonderful ladies and maintain friendships with them as well, bridging the geographical gap.  So I am really excited about this new adventure.  Thank you Peggy for taking me on as one of your DT members!

I am always inspired by sketches, but this week I tried out the PWCO recipe “A shaped card (anything besides square or rectangle), a sports image, and some embossing…“ I think these recipe challenges are my “new thing”! I was stumped at first as to where I should emboss, but then I saw the red stars in the design paper and had that AHA moment, and embossed the edges of the scalloped circle card. The embossing powder even smells like cherries! Hence the inspiration to add the word Summertime to the card, cherries to me are a summer treat.

Like I said, I had so much fun with this one. Right down to making the Zach’s hair messy looking. I finished the card off by adding the gingham ribbon, and balancing out the colors by putting a safety pin in the center, adding some red and green beads. I hope you enjoy my “debut” project.

Materials Used:
Stamps: PWCO Zach the Basketball Player
Paper: My Minds Eye
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copic Markers :
Hair E15 E25 E37
Skin: E00 E01
Ball: E07 E08 E97
Shirt and Shoes: R24 R29 BG23

Be sure to keep your eyes posted to the PWCO Blog, there will be many introductions, and many inspiring projects coming up in the near future.  The other DT members are uber talented!

Have a fab weekend ladies,
Hugs,
Tanya

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #72

Good Morning,

Here we find ourselves having fun with The Pixie Cottage's Challenge #72. The theme this week is Anything But A Card, and we also have this fabby sketch for you.

I was stumped at first, but then I was inspired by an article in a Stampin Up magazine, that had a envelope similar to the one above.  It gave the dimensions, and that was about it, so I adapted it to become a gift card holder to one of my favorite Coffee Shops.  I wanted to incorporate the sketch too, so the inside  piece is based on sketch #72. I used the coffee card as the center rectangle, however I rotated it.

The scrumptious stamp set is none other than The Pixie Cottages Love you a Latte set, available at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More.  It is so versatile!  The fact that you can stamp it out and use it without having to color it really impresses me.  The image stands out on its own, and it comes with a miniature size Cafe latte stamp too, which was perfect in my case for making the front of my envelope.

What will you decide to tackle this week ladies?  The sketch, the theme, or will you walk on the wild side with me and tackle both?

Happy Krafting,
Hugs,
Tanya
